The Police yesterday denied reports that a residential block and its access road in Rajagiriya were closed and placed under quarantine.
“That is wrong, it did not happen,” Police spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne today Daily FT.
Former United National Party (UNP) parliamentarians Dr. Harsha de Silva also took to Twitter to point out that although several residents were checked by public health officials, no quarantine procedures were carried out and that the area is following the existing curfew regulations.
Dr. de Silva blamed the Mayor for making irresponsible statements regarding the incident.
