The Pathfinder Foundation released its study on ‘National Security Strategy 2020 for Sri Lanka’ for public information. A copy of the Study was handed over to State Defence Minister Ruwan Wijewardene by PF Chairman Bernard Goonetilleke at the Ministry.
The Pathfinder Foundation’s interest in undertaking a study on national security strategy for Sri Lanka dates to the latter part of 2018, and work on the study commenced early part of 2019 following a series of consultation. Among those consulted were several former service commanders, senior public officers and academics. The devastating Easter Sunday suicide attacks carried out on 21 April, made it clear that the decision taken by the Pathfinder Foundation to address security structure of the country in the context of fast changing global scenario was timely.
The Pathfinder Foundation is an apolitical, not for profit, independent think-tank operating since 2003. The Pathfinder National Security Strategy 2020 for Sri Lanka could be downloaded by visiting www.counterpoint.lk
