Parliament yesterday approved leave motions for two Opposition members for three months from 18 May.
The motions were moved to grant leave to Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP R. Sampanthan and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Palani Diganbaram who had wanted leave for health reasons.
The Parliament seat of a member will be abolished if the MP fails to obtain leave and does not attend Parliament sittings for three months.
