Pakistan naval ship PNS Saif arrives at Sri Lanka port on goodwill mission

The Sri Lanka Navy, in accordance with naval traditions, ceremonially welcomed the Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Saif, which arrived at the Port of Colombo yesterday on a goodwill visit.

PNS Saif, a Sword class F22P Frigate of Chinese origin, is 123 metres in length and 13.2 metres in width. It is equipped with state-of-the-art weapons, sensors and machinery, making it capable of undertaking a variety of maritime operations.

The ship, which has a replenishment capacity of 3,144 tonnes, has a complement of 225 members.

During its four-day official visit in Sri Lanka, the crew of PNS Saif will take part in several programs including friendly sports events organised by the Sri Lankan Navy.

The Pakistan Naval Ship is scheduled to depart from the Colombo harbour on 8 November.
