Pakistan envoy calls on MR, Speaker

Pakistani High Commissioner Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat met former President

Mahinda Rajapaksa and Speaker Parliament Karu Jayasuriya yesterday.

During the meetings, the current political situation in Sri Lanka was discussed.

The High Commissioner reiterated Pakistan’s support for the continuation and consolidation of democratic process in Sri Lanka. He expressed the hope that the ongoing political situation will be overcome peacefully and amicably in accordance with the Constitution and aspirations of the Sri Lankan people.
