Pakistan High Commissioner calls on Foreign Minister

High Commissioner of Pakistan Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat called on Sri Lankan Foreign Affairs Minister Tilak Marapana at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 9 October.

During the meeting, bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest and cooperation were discussed. The High Commissioner apprised the Foreign Minister about the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Program, under which a number of scholarships will be provided to Sri Lankan youth in diverse fields, during the next five years.

The High Commissioner also discussed the prospect of establishing a Pakistan-Sri Lanka COMSATS University and Taxila, Gandhara Civilisation Studies Centre.

Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner-designate to Pakistan Noordeen Mohamed Shahied was also present during the meeting.
