South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday while engaged on an official tour, was welcomed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the VVIP lounge.
The two leaders engaged in a discussion on many important issues including freedom of navigation and peace-keeping in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. New development initiatives in Sri Lanka were a subject of the discussion.
President Ramaphosa offered his condolences over the Easter Sunday attacks and inquired about the steps taken by the Sri Lanka Government to address the issue.
President Ramaphosa accompanied a 20 member delegation. Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga was also present.
