Eighteen more COVID-19-infected patients recovered yesterday, pushing the total to 538, while the total number of confirmed cases reached 970 as ten new COVID-19-positive patients were identified.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 419 infected patients remain,'09 under treatment at seven specialised hospitals. A total of 1,081 PCR tests were conducted on Saturday (16 May) with 25 testing positive, Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.
The Navy Hospital at Welisara had 192 COVID-19 patients under care with 102 at IDH, 60 at Colombo East Hospital, 31 at the Welikande Base Hospital, 21 at Homagama Base Hospital, 5 at Iranawila Hospital, and two at the Kattankudy Base Hospital.
A total of 508 Navy personnel have tested positive for the virus as of yesterday morning, the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPC) said. A total of 191 sailors who were in treatment have recovered and moved into post-care quarantine. A total of 317 remain under care, the NOCPC said.
Another batch of 62 persons who completed quarantine were released yesterday after being subjected to PCR tests.
A total of 9,443 persons have completed quarantine at military-run quarantine centres as of last evening. A total of 3,058 remain quarantined at 34 centres countrywide, the NOCPC said in a press release.
Of the four new COVID-19 patients identified yesterday, two had arrived from London and the other two were Navy personnel, the Government Information Department said.
A total of 69 Sri Lankans were repatriated from Thailand yesterday and moved to quarantine centres to undergo the mandatory quarantine program as per the public health regulations enforced due to COVID-19.
