New Justice Minister assumes duties

Newly-appointed Minister of Justice Thalatha Athukorala assumed duties yesterday at the Ministry of Justice in Colombo, with the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

Lands and Parliamentary Reforms Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka, Children’s and Women’s Affairs Minister Chandani Bandara and Justice and Buddha Sasana Deputy Minister Sarath Dushmantha Mithrapala were present at the occasion.

Minister Athukorala, who is also the Foreign Employment Minister, was appointed to the post following the sacking of former Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.
