The Sri Lanka Navy has rescued six Indian fishermen who were who were swimming in Sri Lankan waters in the seas off the northern coast of Jaffna and taken them into custody.
The crew of a Fast Attack Craft attached to the Kankasanthurai Naval camp of the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol have spotted the Indian fishermen swimming in the sea.
Investigations have revealed that the boat they were onboard met with an accident in the deep sea.
The fishermen aged 43, 34, 29 and 26 years are residents of Tamil Nadu. They were produced before the Mallakam Magistrate Court in Jaffna.
