The Navy yesterday established two quarantine centres with a capacity of 164 beds in Mannar and at the Oluvil Harbour.
According to the Navy, one centre established at the Naval station SLNS Buwaneka in Mulankavil, Mannar with 64 beds was converted in a number of days by sailors following a request made by health authorities for a centre in the district.
The Navy also converted several buildings at the Oluvil Harbour in the East Coast to hold 80 beds. Both centres are equipped to house those quarantined for a 14-day period.
