Navy Commander pays courtesy call on SLPA Chairman

Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva paid a special courtesy call on the newly-appointed Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Chairman General Daya Ratnayake on 6 January at the SLPA Chairman’s office.

The Navy Commander extended his and the organisation’s best wishes to General Ratnayake and expressed hope that the existing cordial relations between both organisations would continue to prosper during his tenure in office. During the meeting, discussions were held on the present development of the maritime sector, particularly with regards to boosting facilitation for passenger cruise vessel operations in the Port of Colombo. 

Following the discussions, an exchange of mementoes also took place between General Ratnayake and Vice Admiral De Silva to mark the occasion. SLPA Managing Director Capt. Athula Hewavitharana was also present at the occasion.
