The contents of the second report of the Sub Committee on identifying the short- and medium-term programs related to the Economic Stabilisation of the National Council were made known to a number of groups, including social media activists, journalists and youth leaders.
The said parties were informed at a meeting presided over by MP Patali Champika Ranawaka on Thursday.
The report’s specifics were brought up in conversation with the various parties in attendance by Committee Chairman MP Ranawaka. The parties were also instructed to contact the Committee via the Parliament website if it becomes necessary to tell them of the issues included in this report or anything else.
He added that to prepare this research, the viewpoints of specialists from a variety of sectors were gathered.
The opinions expressed by the parties present in this regard were taken into consideration, and as a result, issues such as the improvement of low-income earners, systematic Samrudhi subsidy distribution, the provision of free meals to students in rural schools, an increase in the cost of school supplies, the development of wood-related products, the aviation industry, and the fishing industry, among others, were further discussed.
Ranawaka also urged all parties to post their opinions on the second report of the Sub Committee in a public forum online.
Environment Minister Naseer Ahamed and MP Anura Priyadharshana Yapa were also present at this Committee meeting.
