Madhava Devasurendra yesterday assumed duties as the new Secretary of the State Ministry of Aviation and Export Zone Development.

Devasurendra is a special grade officer of Sri Lanka Administration Service at the Ministry of Aviation and Export Zone Development at the World Trade Center Colombo.

He is an accomplished student of Rahula College Matara and Mahinda College Galle and is an alumni of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has done his postgraduate studies on physics at the University of Ruhuna and on Information Technology at the University of Colombo and has working experience with many international bodies including the World Bank.

He has worked previously as Secretary to the Ministry of Industries and Trade and Ministry of Energy, and he also has vast experience of more than three decades in administration. He has also worked as the General Manager of the National Lottery Board.
