Korean Ambassador Santhush took the opportunity to meet with Mayor of Kandy Kesera Senenayake and engaged in a fruitful discussion on areas of socio-cultural issues and economic cooperation between Korea and Sri Lanka.
Ambassador Santhush highlighted his keen interest to bolster business and economic cooperation between the two countries. Drawing on Korea’s own development experience over the years, the Korean development agencies assist Sri Lanka in industrial development and economic stability through launching projects for the betterment of Sri Lankan people. He invited the special attention of Mayor H.W. Kesera Senenayake to the ongoing projects initiated by the Korean development partners focused in the Central Province. The Kandy city wastewater management project and Kandy tunnel construction project will benefit the development trajectory of Sri Lanka.
Korean Ambassador Santhush further cordially requested Mayor of Kandy Senenayake to continuously take care of the health and safety of the Korean residents who live in Kandy.
Both parties agreed to promote the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in various sectors such as ICT, education and skills development, Korean language education, and cultural cooperation.
