Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday updated on the diesel and petrol shipments that have arrived in the country.
In a Twitter message, the Minister said that 30,000 tons of Super Diesel will be unloaded today, whilst
the second shipment of the crude oil cargo was scheduled to arrive last night. He also said that an Auto Diesel cargo will arrive tomorrow or the day after, whilst adding a Petrol 92 shipment is expected to arrive over the weekend.
In addition, Minister Wijesekera asserted that kerosene and jet fuel distribution operations commenced on Monday.
Separately, he said non-vehicle fuel requirement registration and a fuel pass for tourists will be made available from the first week of September.
The decision was revealed following a National Fuel Pass review meeting held yesterday.
He also assured a special category for additional quotas for essential services.
As per the data, over six million motorists have registered for the National Fuel pass as of Monday, completing over 4.6 million transactions from 15 to 22 August.
