The Department of Communication of the Parliament of Sri Lanka launched the first journal publication ‘Parliament Sara Sanhitha’ at the orientation seminar held for the newly-elected members of the 9th Parliament yesterday.
Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake presented the journal to the Chief Guest of the event Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Deputy Chairperson of Committees Angajan Ramanathan, Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando, and Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella were also present.
The publication was also distributed among the novice MPs attending the orientation seminar, organised by the Parliament Secretariat.
The journal consists of articles covering a wide range of information with regards to Parliamentary proceedings, traditions, and history. The publication intends to serve as a resource book for the benefit of the novice MPs.
