Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka next week in what would be the first-ever visit by a Japanese defence minister.
The visit will take place from 20-22 August.
During his stay, Minister Onodera will hold Japan-Sri Lanka Defence Minister consultations with State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene, as well as call on top Sri Lankan Government leaders. He is also planning to have field visits outside Colombo.
The Embassy of Japan expects that this visit would help further consolidate the “Comprehensive Partnership” between Japan and Sri Lanka.
