The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa in a statement has expressed shock and condemnation of the mass murder of Christian congregants at churches and guests in hotels in Sri Lanka.
Following is the statement:
“We extend our condolence towards the families of those killed in these attacks, in particular, and the people of Sri Lanka, in general, as we also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.
“This level of violence which shows a total disregard for the sanctity of human life, let alone the sacredness of places of worship, is abominable and shows the depravity of perpetrators who in apparent coordinated attacks, intended to inflict large scale carnage and mayhem.
“In this time of great need, we appeal to communities of Colombo to reach out for each other, in a spirit of goodwill and solidarity, against the agents of such terror.”
