The Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF) yesterday blasted the Government for causing multiple crises, whilst citing the dollar shortage as the excuse.
“The public has stepped out and are demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the entire Government in a united one voice. The people of the country has realised that the it is these corrupt rulers that is solely responsible for the bad fiscal management we are in today,” IUSF Convener Wasantha Mudalige said at the protest held in Galle Face yesterday.
He pointed out that the unending queues for essential food, fuel and gas are results of bad policy decisions of the Government and hence the people who elected them have joined the requests for the Government to step down.
Mudalige claimed the Government repeatedly cited the lack of foreign reserves as an excuse, and continued to fill their personal pockets through the hard-earned money of the public.
