The ‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund initiated by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has passed Rs. 1.4 billion in contributions from corporate, individual donations and direct deposits, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said in a statement.
The Employee’s Trust Fund (ETF) Chairman Sriyan De Silva Wijeyaratne as a personal donation offered a sum of Rs. 125,000 while Sri Lanka Maritime Trade Employees Association handed over Rs. 5,050,000 to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat on Thursday.
In addition, Lakshman Nanayakkara contributed Rs. 10,000, while Healthcare Services Deputy Director – Kandy Dr. C.P. Batawala donated Rs. 35,461. Judicial Service Association of Sri Lanka contributed Rs. 528,000 and National Authority for Victim and Witness Protection offered Rs. 36,408.35. National Hospital Deputy Director General Dr. W.K. Wickremesinghe donated Rs. 4,013.33 and G.M Dharmawardhana contributed Rs. 43,180.96.
The fund’s balance has now reached Rs. 1,413,496,240.50.
Local, as well as foreign donors, have made their contributions to the fund.
