High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya Weerawardena Sunil Dharmasena de Silva presented credentials to Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya at a ceremony held on 5 June 2018 at the State House in Nairobi.
The High Commissioner, during the ensuing conversation, outlined the long-standing friendship between the two countries and reaffirmed the commitment to further relations in all areas of engagement during his tenure. President Kenyatta invited Sri Lankan partnership in trade and investment and in furthering his big four agenda. The credential ceremony was attended by Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Dr. Monica Juma, Director/ Asia and Pacific Ambassador Christopher Chika, Director Middle East Ambassador Jackeline Yonga, and Chief of Protocol Ambassador Tabu Irina from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Kenya. Deputy High Commissioner Anzul Jhan also attended the ceremony from the Sri Lanka High Commission.
High Commissioner de Silva was the former High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in South Africa; also accredited to Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, eSwatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
