Hashima City of Japan commends Deputy Minister Buddhika Pathirana

Industry and Commerce Deputy Minister Buddhika Pathirana was appreciated via a note of thanks by the Mayor of Hashima City of Japan, Satoshi Matsui, which was personally delivered at the Deputy Ministry office last week by the President-duo of Hashima City Host Town Executive Committee for Olympic 2020; Toji Eiichi and Toji Kyoko. It was mainly in appreciation of the Deputy Minister’s visit to Hashima City earlier this year, as the Sri Lankan coordinator in the Hashima Executive Committee for Olympic and Paralympic Games 2020, and for participating at the Mutual Agreement Ceremony, Hashima International Exchange Events and the 18th Asian Junior Athletic Championship Games held in Japan. 

Hashima City is the host town to Sri Lanka Olympic and Paralympic Games 2020. The path between Japan and Sri Lanka was coordinated by Japan Lanka Friendship Association Founder and Chairman Dr. Lal Thilakarathne. 

Furthermore, the advancement benefits in Sri Lanka’s athletic field, by the agreement signed between Hashima City and Sri Lanka Sports Ministry, to provide professional coaches from Hashima City to train Sri Lankan athletes, were explained by the Japasene delegation, which remains a part of the purpose of their visit to Sri Lanka.
