The Attorney General yesterday directed the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to arrest interdicted High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya over allegations that he colluded with MP Ranjan Ramanayake to doctor evidence in an ongoing court case.
The AG also directed the CCD to obtain necessary technical evidence from mobile phone service providers pertaining to telephone conversations between the UNP MP and Pilapitiya.
He was interdicted from service after the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recommenced action against him to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Judges of the High Court can be removed and are subject to the disciplinary control of the President on the recommendation of JSC.
