Expressing the ruling party’s concern over the Speaker accepting the No-Confidence Motion, Minister of Public Enterprise, Kandyan Heritage and Kandy Development and Leader of the House of Parliament Lakshman Kiriella highlighted an error with the date.
“The date mentioned on this No-Confidence Motion against Minister Bathiudeen is incorrect. The year 2018 is mentioned as the date. So, how can you talk about future happenings while in 2018? Speaker can take any decision. But on behalf of the Government, I strongly oppose accepting the particular No-Confidence Motion,” said Minister Kiriella.
However, the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya held the UPFA lawmakers have met him to correct the wrong date. (AH)
