Health authorities yesterday confirmed four COVID-19 deaths, bringing the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 379.
According to the Department of Government Information, a 42-year-old individual from Colombo 13 died on February 10 while receiving treatment at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. The cause of death was lung cancer exacerbated by COVID-19, asthma, high blood pressure and acute diabetes.
On 9 February, an individual from Colombo 5 died of COVID-pneumonia, acute diabetes, high-blood pressure and Parkinson’s disease while receiving treatment at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. The individual was 83 years old.
The previous day, an individual from Kotahena died of COVID-pneumonia, high-blood pressure, heart disease and anaemia while being admitted to the National Hospital of Sri Lanka. She was 70 years old.
A 64-year-old individual from Udathalawinna died of trauma of blood poisoning with COVID-pneumonia and heart failure while receiving treatment at the Kandy General Hospital.
