The Colombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday released State Minister of Investment Promotion and Government Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella and former State Printing Corporation Chairman Jayampathi Bandara Heenkenda from a case filed by the Commission to investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption (CIABOC).
Rambukwella and Heenkenda were accused of misusing Rs. 230,000 from the State, incurring a loss to the organisation to pay a private mobile phone bill.
The Court ruled that the case had been filed without the consent of CIABOC and last month closed the bribery case against Rambukwella and Heenkenda.
