With the aim of eliminating delays in court processes, the Government this week gave approval for the court automation project.
The project is part of the Government’s initiative to resolve the delays in courts under the four aspects of law reforms, infrastructure development, court automation and capacity development, Cabinet Co-spokesperson Gayantha Karunatileka told reporters on Wednesday.
A total sum of Rs. 500 million has been allocated in Budget 2016 for the court automation project, then Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe informed Cabinet. Approval was granted to call for proposals from institutions with the technical and financial capability for the acceleration of this project by the Cabinet of Ministers.
