The Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC) has called on India to continue to support Sri Lanka’s efforts to end the fuel shortage.
The request has been made by CWC Leader Senthil Thondaman to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu Leader K. Annamalai.
As per CWC the BJP Leader in Tamil Nadu Annamalai had responded favourably to discuss the matter with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and take steps to supply fuel to Sri Lanka.
CWC Leader Thondaman had pointed out that the people of Sri Lanka were facing great difficulties including regular power cuts due to the prevailing fuel shortages.
It was pointed out that Indian Prime Minister Modi had appointed Annamalai as BJP Tamil Nadu leader.
