Seven COVID-19 deaths were yesterday confirmed by health authorities, and the country’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 615.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, an 86-year-old individual from Talangama tested positive for COVID-19 at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka and was admitted to the Colombo East Base Hospital. The individual died yesterday of COVID pneumonia, acute breathing difficulties, and heart disease.
The previous day, an individual from Ratnapura died of COVID pneumonia, acute breathing difficulties, chronic kidney disease, and heart disease. The individual passed away at the Colombo East Base Hospital, where he was admitted after testing positive for COVID-19 at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital. The individual was 76 years old.
The same day, a 59-year-old individual from Chavakachcheri died of trauma of blood poisoning, COVID-19 and chronic leukaemia. The individual passed away at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, where she was admitted after being identified as COVID-19-positive at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
The Department of Government Information states that a 69-year-old individual from Pasyala died at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka on 14 April. The cause of death is cited as COVID-19, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, heart disease, and asthma.
An individual from Thondaimanaru tested positive for COVID-19 at the Point Pedro Base Hospital and was transferred to the Colombo East Base Hospital. On 11 April, he died of COVID pneumonia, blood poisoning, chronic kidney disease, and diabetes. The individual was 63 years old.
On 10 April, a 60-year-old individual from Kalmunai died of COVID pneumonia, trauma from blood poisoning, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease. The individual passed away at the Colombo East Base Hospital, where he was admitted after testing positive for COVID-19 at the Kamburupitiya Base Hospital.
The same day, an individual from Kalawana died of COVID pneumonia, asthma, high blood pressure, and loss of blood supply to the lungs. The individual passed away at the Colombo East Base Hospital, where she was admitted after testing positive for COVID-19 at the Kalawana Base Hospital. The individual was 75 years old.
