The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday questioned the former Cabinet Minister and Kurunegala District UPFA Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara for nearly six hours about the allegation that the MP received money from the former Director of Perpetual Treasuries Ltd. Arjun Aloysius.
Responding to a summon from the CID, MP Dayasiri Jayasekara arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department around 10.00 a.m. yesterday. He was questioned until 5.30 p.m. and a statement was recorded, the Police Media Spokesman said.
The Parliamentarian left after the interrogation without providing a comment to the media.
MP Dayasiri Jayasekara had recently stated that he had received Rs. 1 million from a subsidiary of Perpetual Treasuries Ltd. for the 2015 Parliamentary election campaign.
