The Prisoners Welfare Association in collaboration with the private-sector is spearheading a program to develop infrastructure to meet the basic needs of prisoners. Prisoners Welfare Association of Sri Lanka Chairman Milinda Moragoda visited the premises of Welikada Prison recently. He was accompanied by R.A.D. Sirisena, Coordinator Projects of the association; E.R. Lamahewa, Prisons Commissioner in charge of Rehabilitation; and Chandana Ekanayake, Head of the Welikada Prison. During the visit the group assessed the gaps in the infrastructure and facilities available to the prisoners.
