Jabbing of the ‘AstraZeneca Covishield’ vaccine to Army personnel serving at the front lines in the fight against transmission of COVID-19 continues in full swing across 16 island-wide including the Palaly Army Base Hospital, Army Hospital at Anuradhapura, Field Hospital in Mannar, Field Hospital, Vauniya, Army Base Hospital, Minneriya, Combat Training School, Ampara, Army Base Hospital, Kilinochchi, Army Base Hospital, Mullaittivu, Army Hospital, Colombo, Army Base Hospital, Panagoda,1 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps, Army Base Hospital, Diyatalawa, Main Dressing Station, 11 Division, Main Dressing Station, 12 Division, Main Dressing Station, 22 Division and the Main Dressing Station, 61 Division.
General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head-National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) taking a close look at the ongoing vaccination project was at Palaly Army Base Hospital on Saturday.
Each of those places is scheduled to provide 500 doses and completes the day’s target of 7500 doses. As per the planned 1st round of vaccination, Army medical teams expect to complete the allocation of 31,000 jabs to Army personnel within the next 3 days.
Army medical teams at both Colombo Army Hospital at Narahenpita and Panagoda Army Hospital on Friday (29) completed the inoculation of 1000 doses of ‘AstraZeneca Covishield’ vaccine to Army personnel serving at the front lines in the fight against transmission of COVID-19 after its inauguration took place Friday (29) morning at Narahenpita, graced by General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
