Sri Lanka Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman O.L. Ameer Ajwad felicitated Dr. Tahira Kazmi, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecologist who successfully performed a critical surgery at Khoula Hospital in Muscat on a Sri Lankan pregnant migrant worker who gave birth to triplet babies amid COVID-19 pandemic challenges.
Ambassador Ajwad had earlier made arrangements with Dr. Kazmi for this critical surgery on this triplet pregnant mother who was unable to travel to Sri Lanka for the delivery due to the lockdown and closure of the airports in the aftermath of COVID-19 outbreak.
Ajwad extended his sincere appreciation to Dr. Mazin Al Khabouri, Director General of the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman, as well as to Dar Al-Atta Charitable Association of Oman for their kind and generous humanitarian gesture towards this distressed pregnant migrant worker to deliver her three babies in a successful and peaceful manner.
Ajwad also extended his sincere gratitude to Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and his Government for taking excellent care of migrant workers in Oman during this challenging time.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Muscat extended its best wishes to Ruwanthika Dilini, who is an employee of Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG and the mother of the newly-born triplet babies as well as the newborn two boys and a girl for their good health and well-being.
