Attorney General (AG) Dappula De Livera yesterday wrote to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandana Wickremaratne informing him that the material submitted to his office pertaining to the Easter Sunday terror attacks are incomplete.
A 30-page dossier on the shortcomings in the investigation reports were forwarded to the IGP by the AG, Coordinating Officer to the AG State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said.
The IGP was also instructed to obtain a copy of the Commission of Inquiry which probed the terrorist attacks of April 2019 from the President’s Office and obtain further evidence from witnesses.
The AG also said that it was necessary not to delay the indictments in case and directed the IGP to reply within 14 days on what action has been taken on the instructions given by him.
