A total of 437,878 persons received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, raising the number of persons to receive the first dose to 7,839,638 and the number of persons to receive the second dose to 1,882,693.
Among persons vaccinated on Monday are 356,628 persons who received the first dose of Sinopharm and 55,722 persons who received the second dose of Sinopharm. In total, the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 5,945,237 persons and the second dose to 1,482,305 persons.
The first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine was administered to 25,420 persons on Monday, raising the total number of Moderna first doses administered in the country to 696,003.
On Monday, 108 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and the first dose of the vaccine has been administered to 114,075 persons in total.
In addition to this, 159,081 persons have received the Sputnik V first dose and 14,503 persons have received the Sputnik V second dose.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 925,242 persons and the second dose to 385,885 persons.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi stated that the 1.6 million doses of Sinopharm donated by the Government of China yesterday will be used in the Northern and Easter Provinces.
“We believe that we will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine doses in a few days’ time, so persons who received the first dose can easily receive the second dose,” she said.
