Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 16,142 after health officials confirmed 26 COVID-19 fatalities on Thursday.
Twenty COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Thursday were over 60 years and six fatalities were between 30 and 59 years. Zero COVID-19 fatalities were confirmed from the under-30 age group.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 76.2% of the total COVID-19 deaths are from the over-60 age group, while 22.49% of the COVID-19 deaths are from the 30 to 59 age group and 1.3% of the COVID-19 deaths are from the under-30 age group. Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 9,101 are male and 7,041 are female.
13 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Thursday were male and 13 COVID-19 fatalities were female.
