Given the increasing spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka, the Government yesterday announced that all State offices will be closed on 24 and 25 May in an attempt to limit movement and control the spread of COVID-19.
According to a statement issued by the Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry, essential Public services will not be affected by the declaration of the special Government holidays.
In addition to this, the Ministry stated that Government employees will receive their salaries for the month on 21 May.
