A Sri Lankan court yesterday granted bail to the 21 university students who were arrested last month for forcibly entering into the Higher Education Ministry premises and causing damage to the property. The Colombo High Court granted bail to the students and advised them not to take part in any political activities.

The students were informed that if any complaint was received on them having participated in any protests or meetings, the bail would be revoked and they would be placed under arrest again.

Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara who considered the bail application released the students on a personal bail of Rs. 25,000 each.
