Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 14,832 after health officials confirmed 21 more fatalities on Wednesday.
Eighteen persons over 60 years and three persons between 30 and 59 years were among the COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday. Zero deaths were confirmed from the under-30 age group.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.46% of the total COVID-19 fatalities are over 60 years, 22.37% of the fatalities are from the 30 to 59 age group, and 1.17% of the fatalities are below 30 years.
Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 8,312 are male and 6,520 are female.
Fourteen COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were male and seven were female.
