COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 205,493 persons on Tuesday and Epidemiology Unit data shows that 94.3% of the population over 20 years has received two COVID-19 vaccine doses to date.
According to Our World in Data, of the country’s total population, 74.23% has received the first dose and 64.16% has received both doses.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 15,960,281 persons have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 13,796,586 persons have received the second dose as well.
The third dose of a COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to 1,649,368 persons. This includes 200,346 persons vaccinated on Tuesday. According to Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Samitha Guruge, persons who contract COVID-19 after receiving the first two vaccine doses should get the third dose six months after receiving the second dose.
The first dose of Pfizer was administered to 1,077 persons on Tuesday and 520 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. In total, the first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 1,558,720 persons and the second dose has been administered to 467,323 persons.
The first dose of Sinopharm has been administered to 11,958,019 persons and 10,967,497 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine. On Tuesday, 969 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 2,581 persons received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,479,631 persons and the second dose has been administered to 1,418,593 persons.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 804,801 persons have received the first dose of Moderna and 787,361 persons have received the second dose of the vaccine.
The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,110 persons and the second dose has been administered to 155,812 persons.
