Health authorities yesterday confirmed two COVID-19 deaths which brought the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 290.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, a 43-year-old individual from Colombo 15 died while receiving treatment for COVID-19 at the Homagama Base Hospital yesterday. The cause of death is cited as COVID pneumonia and complications caused by heart disease.
On Tuesday, a 74-year-old individual from Gonapola died of COVID pneumonia, kidney infection and exacerbated cellulitis while being admitted to the Horana Base Hospital.
