Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 fatalities exceeded 11,000, with 157 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Friday and 144 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Saturday.
On Saturday, health officials confirmed the deaths of 122 persons over the age of 60, 21 persons aged between 30 and 59, and one person below the age of 30.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 76.28% of the total fatalities is over the age of 60, 22.55% is between 30 to 59 years of age, and 1.17% is below the age of 30.
Of the total fatalities, 6,349 are male and 4,947 are female. Seventy-seven COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were male and 67 fatalities were female.
A total of 11,296 COVID-19 deaths have been confirmed to date.
