Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 11,431 after health officials on Sunday confirmed 135 more fatalities.
The deaths confirmed on Sunday include 109 persons over the age of 60 and 26 persons aged between 30 and 59. No deaths were reported from the below 30 age category.
The Epidemiology Unit states that 76.39% of the total fatalities are over the age of 60, 22.45% are in the 30 to 59 age category, and 1.16% are below the age of 30.
Of the fatalities, 6,420 are male and 5,011 are female. 71 fatalities confirmed on Sunday were male and 64 were female.
