With this launch, TVS Lanka is filling their gap in the 125cc product range. TVS Lanka is confident on making Phoenix Sri Lanka’s first premium 125cc motorcycle. Chief Executive Officer Sampath Agalawatta stated that there was a need for a premium 125cc motorbike for the Sri Lankan market and the Phoenix will be able to fulfil the market gap. The strength and success of TVS Lanka has been its promptness in after-sales service. Today, TVS Lanka has a highly trained and capable service dealer network island-wide to attend to all customer needs and offer the best service to customers. Agalawattha took this opportunity to thank all the sales and service dealers for the confidence placed in TVS Lanka over the last 10 years and ensured that TVS Lanka will grow from strength to strength “TVS Lanka was a pioneer, launching many new products such as Wego, New RTR Apache and Refreshed Streak but we had a gap in the 125cc category. Now that gap will definitely be filled by Phoenix 125. This new product is targeted at young, salaried and self-employed men who are aged between 25 to 35 years. We have identified this segment to be upwardly mobile, for those who enjoy the plus life and want a fully loaded product. Phoenix’s features and charm will attract a number of young executives to our new product,” TVS Lanka Head of Marketing Geethal Anthony said. TVS Phoenix 125 is loaded with premium features and is backed by an all new, highly refined 125cc eco thrust engine that provides excellent pickup with best in class fuel efficiency. The bike promises to be a seamless combination of premium style and comfort with unique, first of its kind features in its segment. For the first time in this segment, features such as a fully digital speedometer, backlit in premium amber, a digital fuel gauge, a low battery reminder, a trip meter, service reminder, soft texture grips and soft touch switchgear have been provided. For the first time in India, TVS Phoenix offers car like hazard lamps to enhance added safety for the rider. Riding comfort of the TVS Phoenix 125 has been maximised by way of five-step adjustable ‘series spring’ suspension, high response damper and ergonomically positioned handle bar for superior riding control. The dealer convention, themed ‘Storm Ahead 2013’, was a glamorous event to complement the strong TVS dealer backbone which has helped the company sustain itself in the competitive market. Best performing dealers of TVS Lanka around the country were felicitated for their continuous and innovative efforts in sales and service. “Great battles are not won just using ultimate power. They need great people to steer it to the end, to the victory. I am proud to say that TVS Lanka possesses one of the greatest dealer networks in the country. They have great strength and courage to be alive in the market and I must say without their great support, TVS Lanka’s success would not be possible,” TVS Lanka Assistant General Manager – Sales, Dhammika Gunawardana stated at the dealer convention. The dealer convention educated service dealers on emerging and innovative trends in the industry and recognised them for their exceptional performance. Many awards were given out in recognition of outstanding performance to the top dealers as well as special tour packages and cash prizes for dealers and TVS Lanka field service staff. “Dealers have approached the customers in new ways due to the market downfall experienced in the segment. They were very audacious and tried new things like modernising their sales outlets and so forth. These efforts will continue to help TVS Lanka to achieve its targets,” Gunewardena added. TVS Lanka is backed by the strength and stability of United Motors Lanka (UML) and TVS and Sons. UML is one of the largest automobile companies in Sri Lanka, operating for over 65 years, while TVS and Sons is one of the leading automobile players in India with a history of over 100 years.
