Toyota Lanka Ltd., the sole authorised distributor for Toyota vehicles in Sri Lanka, recently recognised and rewarded its top salesmen for the year.
The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of Managing Director Shungo Yoshioka, Director/Chief Operating Officer Manohara Atukorale and Head of Sales Ashan De Silva. General Manager HR & Administration Demetrious Perera, General Manager Finance & ICT Gayan Karunarathne, Senior Manager Udaya Francis and Manager – Hino & Forklifts Chandima Dahanayake were also present.
The annual awards ceremony recognises the achievements of the company’s front line staff members attached to the vehicle sales division.
This year Manoj Kiriella was adjudged ‘Best Salesman’ for his valuable contribution to the Toyota brand whilst Anil Algama and Sandun Tennakoon were 1st and 2nd Runner-ups respectively.
For Hino trucks (affiliated brand of Toyota), Nalin Ranatunga was adjudged the ‘Best Salesman’ whilst Udesh Pathiraja and Dharshana Seneviratne were recognised as the 1st and 2nd Runners-up respectively. Dilina Madusanka received a special achievement award for his contribution to the Toyota Industrial Equipment (Forklift) brand.
Speaking at the event Managing Director Shungo Yoshioka noted, “As much as this event is about recognising the relentless efforts put in by our highly skilled sales team, it is also about delivering a superior customer experience. At Toyota, one of our fundamentals is not to just make a sale but to establish a lifelong relationship with each customer. This is the driving force behind our success.”
“Toyota is world renowned for its QDR approach in vehicle manufacture which stands for ‘Quality-Durability-Reliability’ and with our planned network expansion a key objective will be to further establish QDR in our service experience as well. As a fully owned subsidiary of Toyota, we want our customers to experience global Toyota standards,” added Director/Chief Operating Officer Manohara Atukorale.
While the main objective of the event is to recognise and reward top achievers in the vehicle sales department for their contribution towards the achievement of divisional targets, the event also pays much emphasis on communicating the future strategic objectives of the company. Several key initiatives in terms of driving sales forward were also launched at the event.
Also speaking at the event, Head of Sales Ashan De Silva said: “Toyota Lanka will continue to strive towards innovation by embracing the Toyota philosophy of Kaizen. These new initiatives and tools introduced will help our sales team to improve efficiency and customer service standards.”
He also emphasised on the importance of utilising technology in enhancing customer care and competitiveness.
