Toyota Lanka holds fifth Dealer Convention

Toyota Lanka Ltd. held its fifth Dealer Convention and award ceremony followed by a gala evening dinner at the Union Ballroom at the Hilton Residencies recently.

Toyota Lanka is a fully owned subsidiary of the Toyota Tsusho Corporation, which is a member of the world-renown Toyota Group of Japan, and is the premier service integrator of the local auto industry.

It represents world-class Toyota and Hino products as well as Toyota Genuine lubricants, etc. in Sri Lanka and is the first company in the local automobile business to integrate Sales, Spare parts and Service (3S) under one roof.

Contributions of Toyota Lanka’s islandwide dealer network towards the company’s growth over the years have been significant. Every year the company holds a Dealer Convention and awards ceremony to felicitate good performance from the dealers and the tradition continues, for the fifth consecutive time, with this year’s event.

It is the ultimate form of recognition for Toyota Lanka’s dealers that puts them under the spotlight and is organised jointly by the Service, Spare Parts and Lubricant Divisions of the company.  

Speaking at the event, Toyota Lanka Managing Director Yoshiaki Kato stated: “This annual event is an embodiment of the performance of our dealers island wide. This is the way we appreciate the hard work and dedication of all our dealers who believe in Toyota Lanka and encourages their customers to believe in the Toyota brand name as well.”

Chief Operating Officer Manohara Athokorala said that since its founding, the company has come a long way and has made major achievements which would not be possible if not for the hard work and efforts of its dealers. He also stressed that dealer performance is key as Toyota Lanka continues to grow year on year with further expansions of dealerships and showrooms across the country.

Also present at the event were special invitees Kentaro Kotera from Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Japan and Peter Liew of Toyota Tsusho Singapore Pte Ltd., along with a host of other dignitaries and invitees.

Auto World Ltd., Kurunegala took the top spot by becoming the winner of the Parts & Service Dealer Category (2S) while Kundasale Auto Service (Pvt) Ltd. of Kandy took the runner-up position. S.M Lanka Trading (Pvt) Ltd., Ratnapura was crowned the winner of the Parts Dealer Category with Wimal Motors of Moratuwa bagging the runner-up spot.

Toyota Lanka salutes its performance and efforts to help retain its position as the country’s top automobile integrator.
