Faga Industrial Solutions holds ‘BKT product awareness program’

Faga Industrial Solutions Ltd (FIS), the authorised distributors for BKT branded off-highway tyres in Sri Lanka organised the ‘BKT product awareness program’ at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel on 30 April. Top level managers and executives from the manufacturing and service sector organisations as well as tyre dealers attended the event. 

Addressing the gathering FIS Managing Director K.A.C. Vidyaratne explained that FIS is the youngest member of their group which is involved in distribution of off-highway tyres in Sri Lanka. FIS is distributing ‘BKT’ off highway tyres manufactured in India and ‘Faga’ branded solid industrial tyres which are manufactured at their own factory in Sri Lanka. The company also offers tyre rims and wheels and rubber tracks. Vidyaratne explained that its specialty is the service it provides for its customers.  

FIS provides complete mounting and demounting services for its customer. The service model of the company is designed similar to the practices in the German off highway tyre industry. “It is for the first time in Sri Lanka we are offering a warranty for tyre wear for our solid tyres. No one in our country has offered this so far, for any kind of tyre,” Vidyaratne said.

Speaking further he said, “We plan to offer industrial products and solutions backed with our unmatched service. We are offering heavy industrial motors, starters, gearboxes, couplings, drives, forklifts and many other industrial products which are of Asian origins with very competitive prices and premium quality. All products we are offering have been tested at our own factories for years before we release them to the local market. Therefore our customers can be rest assured.

Fabna Industries and Faga Tyres are the two other members of their group. Fabna is the leading manufacturer of customer compound mixing for rubber products. Faga Tyres is the manufacturer and exporter of ‘Faga Master, Achiever and Faga Force’ branded tyres and has won the gold award in 2012 and bronze award in 2013 for the best exporter of rubber products at the national export awards.

BKT Sr. Executive (Export Marketing) for Asian region Siddharth Singh also spoke at the event. In his presentation he said BKT is the largest manufacturer and exporter of off highway tyres in India and one of the leading off-highway tyres manufacturers in the world. BKT has more than 2,300 SKUs and is world famous as the one stop shop for off-highway tyres. 

BKT has tyres for industrial and construction, material handling, port applications, cranes, tractor and trailer, forest, lawn and garden and many other applications. BKT is also a leading supplier for original equipment manufacturers such as JCB, John Deer, Tafe, Class, Bomag, Kubota, Saki, etc. 

BKT is going to have the official opening of its fourth tyre plant at Bhuj – India in November this year. The 300 acre tyre plant will be the largest off-highway tyre plant in Asia and create job opportunities to more than 5,000 men and women. This green tyre plant has its own power generation plant and housing, schools, shopping centre, medical services etc. for betterment of its employees. BKT plans to have a 10% global market share in off highway tyres by 2017 and to become a $ 2 billion company by 2020.
