Rangs Limited, the leading importer and distributor of brand new automobiles in Bangladesh, signed a contract with IFS — a global ERP solutions provider — to implement IFS Applications across its three main operations: unit sales, spare parts and service processes.
The company, importing Mitsubishi, Honda, Mercedes Benz and JMC branded automobiles, realised that to support its aggressive plans of expansion into new market segments and brands, as well as to keep up with customer demand, an upgrade from the existing standalone systems was crucial.
To increase value to existing and future customers, the company also realised the importance of a best-in-class, full-scale ERP solution like IFS Applications, which already had a strong presence in the automotive sector.
IFS will enable Rangs Limited to monitor the existing network of showrooms and the head office operations. It will enable detailed sales analysis including breakdown of the fast-moving models and colors, thereby optimising sales, inventory planning and analysis. Tracking showroom sales, managing promotional items and activities such as branded items or free goods (e.g., tool kits), are some of the key features offered for unit sales operations.
IFS Applications offers the same type of detailed planning, tracking and analysis for the spare parts operations. The solution will also enable Rangs to manage the entire service process through the comprehensive service management functionality. In addition, IFS’s solution for the automotive industry includes warranty handling and tracking, service history, detailed reporting, and analysis of service operations.
IFS Applications has been implemented at more than 250 automotive customers in over 40 countries around the world and works extensively with leading brands such as BMW, Volvo, Honda, Saab, Massey Ferguson, Mercedes, M G Rover, and Toyota. IFS is well-known for providing component-based solutions that are agile, easy to use and have the ability to quickly adapt, enabling companies to take advantage of the opportunities generated by a rapid change in the market.
After an intensive evaluation process, including all top ERP vendors and products, the company selected IFS due to its industry experience, its in-house implementation and support team, and, most importantly, its long track record of successful projects in the South Asia region.
