The new Bajaj four-wheeler, RE-60, stole the attention of hundreds of motor car lovers who visited the David Pieris Motor Company stall at the Ceylon Motor Show 2015 which concluded at the BMICH on a high note on Sunday, 10 May.
The RE60, which is regarded as the most simple, effective and immediate solution for the high rising cost of fuel, was a star attraction at the prestigious motor show. The eco-friendly budget vehicle is the first four-wheeler developed by Bajaj Auto Ltd, India. It is equipped with a single cylinder, 216 cc engine with a fuel efficiency of 30 to 35 km/l. The RE-60 belongs to a new segment called the ‘quadricycle’ and the visitors at the BMICH had their eyes on this Bajaj four-wheeler which is yet to hit the Lankan market.
The Lankan motor car enthusiasts had the opportunity to have a closer look at and be test-driven in this groundbreaking vehicle at the Ceylon Motor Show this year. The RE-60 is a concept of Bajaj Auto, the world’s largest manufacturer of three-wheelers. Its engine is a new water-cooled DTSi, 4-valve engine and can gain a maximum speed of 70 km per hour. It is easy to drive, compact, lightweight and has the lowest carbon emission of 60 gm/km.
The Ceylon Motor Show 2015 was organised by the Ceylon Motor Traders’ Association and the Classic Car Club of Ceylon.
